We had a big storm last night with lots of thunder and lightning. And it cooled the place down a bit; but it made today very sultry. We're in for more rain over the next week. And seeing it's going to be that way, I thought to get over to the post office quickly this morning in between loads of washing just in case we had a shower of rain. There was only one piece of mail there: an envelope. And inside it was my prize of Sobergirl's postcard and bookmark giveaway! And what gorgeous postcards they are!
Thank you so much! I'll get into using them sometime this year; most probably when I'm sending a book on through a bookring/ray. They're just lovely. And I adore the bookmarks. They have such detail and the girl reading reminds me of when I was young and I couldn't get my nose out of a book. Thank you again, Sobergirl!

Greetings From La Push!
Today is a real stinker of a day. Honestly! And I thought to get to the post office before I had to really go out into the heat of it all later on. So, before posting off some things overseas, I found a postcard from La Push, Washington from Wamstreet! Thank you so much for this! And it's so pretty, rocky and very haunting, isn't it?
It makes me want to go to the USA even more to explore the wide reaches of that country and all of its cities.

Bookmarks from India
Today was shopping day and so I had to leave early to get myself working with my bung foot; and boy! Was it sore today! I went to the post office on the way to the bus stop and found a letter from the Customs and Fisheries people in Sydney. Now, I don't get these very often unless something has been sent where it had to be opened; and this one was. In the letter enclosed, I read that some leaves had been removed to be destroyed. Now, I hate to remind the sender of this lovely gift, but you have to be careful what you send to Australia. If you have any doubts, I'll put the Australian Quarantine site up on the sidebar here.
However, I'm here to thank lils74 for sending me this lovely card (which looks like it's had some water damage unfortunately) and these three bookmarks! They will most certainly come into great use this year. Thank you very much.

Such Lovely People Are Bookcrossers!
It took me a while to get to the post office today as left heel was playing up a lot. I have pulled the ligament in the arch of my foot; thus making the inside of my heel hurt like you wouldn't believe! So, I'm limping badly. Anyway, the mail box was chock full of mail and one blue collection card. And when I went inside, I was given this large envelope by the girls. I opened it at the desks by the door and found teas, two cds, two books and a small purple object that I'm not quite sure of (I'm sure it'll show its use soon) but I know I connect it to my belt and a bookmark made of metal! Very cool!
Thank you very much for this J4shaw! This was sent to me for 'The Kindest Bookcrosser RABCK' and mixed in this is a bookring. I can't wait to get into both books! Thank you again!

A RABCK from Juli2007!
In the mail today, I wasn't expecting much; actually there's usually an empty box looking at me most Friday's. So, when I found a medium-sized envelope looking at me, I was very surprised and pulled it out. On opening it, I found it was was from Juli2007!
Inside it was a collection of stickers, Dr Sues stickers, labels, alphabet stickers, postcards, bookmarks (homemade and bought ones) and cute post-it notes too! What a wonderful lot of things I can use and give to my niece as well (the horse stickers are the ones she'll really go for!). Thank you again for your wonderful RABCK that you offered up on the RABCK Forum! All these things will come in handy.

A Belated HGG from South Africa
Today, I thought to catch the mail before the heat settled in and made things impossible to go outside. So, I raced across to the Slacks Creek Post Office and found a blue parcel collection card in the PO Box. And I was handed a small parcel from South Africa. Being in air conditioning, I thought to open it while I was cooling off; and it was from moonblue in Grahamstown! Enclosed was the beautiful calendar and a lovely postcard of where she lives!
Thank you so much for these HGG things. Even though it took so long to arrive, it's the anticipation of opening the parcel that makes it all worthwhile. I'll be using this calendar in my office near the computer.
