A Prize Pack Arrives!

I'm frequenter on The Romance Bandits blog and while there, I comment on quite a few of their posts.  Well!  Not long ago, I commented on one of their guest blog posts and won a prize pack!
At first, I didn't know until somebody told me about it!  How very cool, and fun.  So, not knowing where this author was in the world, I e-mailed them my PO Box and wondered quietly what was to arrive in the mail.  Today, the prize pack arrived!  And isn't it great!  I've always love receiving things in the mail, no matter what they are.  Thank you Kylie Griffin for choosing me - along with Fedora and Helen - as your winners!

Gorgeous Knitted Coin Purse Arrival.

A few weeks ago, I received a Private Message from a Bookcrosser who asked me if I was still collecting coin purses.  I answered her and said I do; but haven't found any that were interesting enough to purchase of late (yep, I've hit a dry patch in the charity stores).  Today, I was out at the Post Office to check the mail; when I opened the little black door with my number on it to find the whole thing was chock-a-block with mail!  there was junk mail, two parcels and a blue parcel pick-up card!  Wow!  That's a lot of deliveries!
Inside a yellow envelope was this gorgeous little knitted coin purse.  Inside the coin purse was the Flamingo magnetic bookmark from Florida and the postcard is of Niagara Falls.  I love how this purse has been made; with such care; and it's been used too.  I will get into using it at some point soon as well.  Thank you so much pumpkinpussycat for sending this one to me, it's just gorgeously cute!

HGG from Wandering-B!

Today, it started out being a dull and overcast one; but not as hot as yesterday.  At the PO Box, today, I found a little bundle of mail for Mum and Dad and a parcel pick-up card for me.  So, I went and collected it immediately.
What I found inside the parcel was a lovely little key-ring, a bookcorner, a cute paperclip magnet with a star on it and a sealed envelope of tea; but I'm not sure which kind of tea as it's all in Chinese.  Oh well, I love surprises! :D  Thank you so much Wandering-B!  I love this little surprise I found in my PO Box... it's just lovely.

Mixed Favourites Book Baggies Returns Home

There are times when I have the fun of organising a Book Baggie.  Sometimes it's themed; sometimes it's not.  This one was a Mixed Favourites one.  This means you can toss in any book you loved reading and recommend to anyone to read.  I also included a little pink plastic pencilcase that was for any goodies that may be collected and swapped along the way.

When I posted the baggie off four months ago around Australia, there wasn't much in the pencilcase and the baggie was full ( and I think it was a 5kg bag).  And it came back in a 3kg bag bursting at the seams with books; as did the pencilcase.  And just look at the amount of books that you all sent to around to each other, checked out, swapped and packed back in!  The last person on the list - Juli2007 - must have had a little trouble with packing the bag as when I unpacked it on the kitchen table, I couldn't re-pack to take it upstairs.
There was so much in the pencilcase too!  From a mini-bible to teas, moisturisers, sunscreen, bookmarks, ear-rings, stickers (loads of those!), magnets and other cute things!  And the books were of a wonderful assortment!  I even got two of my own back... how brilliant the world works.  And the funnier thing was that I couldn't fit the pencilcase on the table with the books; and so had to take a separate photo of the contents... how's that for amazing?

Thank you all for taking part and for all the wonderful goodies that came back home safely... well, I do look forward to next year's 'Mixed Favourites Book Baggie'... don't you?

A Kalman RABCK from Western Australia

Today, I woke to a dull morning. Before 8am, it was drizzling with rain and I knew it wasn't going to get any better than this; and I had to go out. So, I ate breakfast and took the walk to the chemist, checked out the thrift shop for a book that was falling apart (and I found one perfect for my collage I have in mind) and found another really nice book by Stephen Fry. Then, I headed to the post office. Inside the PO Box, I found a blue pick-up card and so I went inside and did just that. I was handed a 3kg Australia Post satchel. At first, I thought it was my book baggie I had going around Australia; and thought it had returned kinda light and really quick (because goofbunny is the last person on that list). Then, when I got it home, I got Stevie out of her cage, sat her on my shoulder and opened the parcel. Inside was another parcel which I opened carefully. Once I got it opened, the bird and I found three beautifully wrapped books with an envelope that had been sealed with wax! We slipped out from between the wrapped parcels two sheets of books labels with Stevie's cute little face on it from my Bookcrossing bookshelf! How wonderfully cute is that?

Goofbunny! I gotta say, thank you very much for this! I wasn't expecting all this from you. Not only were there three books: 'Parrot and Olivier in America' by Peter Carey, 'Psycho House' by Robert Bloch and 'I Sing The Body Electric' by Ray Bradbury; but there was a pair of watermelon ear rings, two magnets, a bookmark with a carrot reading a book in an easy-chair, some gift tags and a strip of Ballycumber stickers. What a parcel! I love it! And two of the books are hard covers! Thank you again!

Valentine's From The Holy Land

The second parcel I received today was from Israel; Jerusalem to be exact. And I was so excited about it, I opened it straight away at the post office and was (and still am) amazed at the beautiful present I found inside. The first thing that greeted me was the gorgeous purple scarf the unwrittenlibra had sent me. It was just lovely! And I love this colour! It's one of the main colours I'm using in my blanket for my lounge this year which will match the jewel green curtains! Then, wrapped in a soft tissue was a fridge magnet of the city with 'Shalom' written on it. And then wrapped in the scarf was a copy of 'On a Hoof and a Prayer' by Polly Evans. I read the back of it and thought it sounded like a great book to read.

I'm so sorry I didn't wait until the right day to open this gem of a present. But I do appreciate everything in it and the lovely note you wrote. It's been so long since I received something this wonderful from anyone; and I will most definitely use the scarf when the day comes around if my family are doing something. Thank you again, UnwrittenLibra for your generosity; and I hope you enjoy your pressie from me (I'm very new at the Valentine's thing, so I do hope you like what I've gotten you).

HGG - All The Way From California!

After such a stressful weekend (which I won't go into here), I opened my PO Box find a wonderful surprise inside it! A red pick-up card; this means I had to sign for it. I opened the envelope at the post office (no, I couldn't wait until I got home; I get too excited when it's got my screen name on the front!) and out came the two gorgeous coin purse, the bookmark, a hand-written note and a pen. I also found the magnet inside the woven coin purse. All of these beautiful things came from California! I love them and will get great use out of them!

Thank you so much for this wonderful surprise. I love it and will most definitely get into using all of it very soon, judygreeneyes.

A Set of Oregon Earrings!

Yesterday, Loey received a box on the front doorstep and called me about it. Seeing we were going to see each other that night, I waited until last night to pick it up and open it. Inside this box was a lot of packing beans and in amongst it all, wrapped in green paper and in a 'Made In Oregon' bag was my birthday present from ajijic! I unwrapped the items and found a beautiful magnet and the most gorgeous pair of Oregon Jasper earrings in the box! I loved them so much that I wore them out that night to dinner (It was my Uncle's birthday dinner; I thought it would be perfect). Then, came the cards... inside with the birthday card was an array of postcards of Oregon and Portland; and then a photo of ajijic's darling dog! And the next card was a Halloween card!

I love this present as I could wear these straight away and I'll find other times to wear them as often as I can. Thank you ajijic again for these wonderful presents.

The Mark of Friendship

When I opened this parcel, I didn't find any books. I found the most lovely notebooks, bookmarks and a magnet. All of them spoke of friendship and opportunity in the most beautiful ways. This is how I feel about you all; as friends across the miles and on the net through the forums. You're friends to me and will always be there for me; I will always be there for you.
Lone-Star-Lori, these are wonderful things to send across the miles to me on my birthday and I thank you very much. I will use them and remember you were the one who gave them to me. Some of them will stay in the Bookcrossing basket; as that's where a lot of the things that I've received has been placed; and other things will be used in other places around the house. Thank you again.
