Okay, here's yet another blog for any of you to follow. However, it's not just any blog. This one is for my birthday this year. And in case you're wondering why I've decided to track my birthday presents this year and not any other year, well, it all begins in February.
I decided in early February to plan a Love Bomb for my Mum for her 60th birthday. So, I asked all my friends on Bookcrossing.com to pitch in and give me a hand not only celebrating her big day, but also getting her more involved in Bookcrossing and its fun forums and games she so badly wanted to have a go at.
Well, around seven months later, in September, I had a wonderful time with my Mum at her place watching her open presents from all over the world. The people who sent such lovely gifts have since been personally thanked via e-mail and the books journaled. Mum just couldn't believe I pulled together something so brilliant and fun and wonderful. So, a week later, she thought to do the same for my birthday (which is next Monday, 5th, October) and she's been inundated with people on Bookcrossing.com saying they'd love to help celebrate my birthday.
So, here's the blog to show off the pressies and who gave them to me. There'll be pictures and a heartfelt thank you to you all. I'm looking forward to doing this so any of you good people out there from Bookcrossing - as well as my friends who aren't into that site - can have a look at how much fun can be had when you're socialising with people who have a like interest on the other side of the globe.
So, stay tuned and you'll see the presents mount little by little; as I'll be numbering them when I open them so I'll know which ones to do when I'm blogging them.
