Belated Christmas Cards

In the last week, I've been very busy with family commitments; and so when I received two cards in this week, I completely forgot to put them up here and thank the wonderful people who have gone to the trouble of sending them; no matter how late they arrived.
The first that arrived was last Wednesday from Shemchin and her family of a family photo on a postcard and a newsletter about what's been going on in 2010.  How lovely and wonderful it felt to receive this in the mail after all that's been happening around Brisbane; to finally hear about other people's fortune and happiness.
Then, just today, I just received a gorgeous Christmas card from AsianWaterfall.  I love the simplicity of this card and how it looks like it's snowing on it; with glitter on it.  Just lovely.  Thank you both for sending these lovely, thoughtful cards; no matter how late they arrived.  Our mail has been put off a little because of the floods around Brisbane and Queensland anyway; so don't feel bad about how long it takes to get things here for now.  We're still getting back on our feet.  Thank you again for these lovely cards.

HGG from Wandering-B!

Today, it started out being a dull and overcast one; but not as hot as yesterday.  At the PO Box, today, I found a little bundle of mail for Mum and Dad and a parcel pick-up card for me.  So, I went and collected it immediately.
What I found inside the parcel was a lovely little key-ring, a bookcorner, a cute paperclip magnet with a star on it and a sealed envelope of tea; but I'm not sure which kind of tea as it's all in Chinese.  Oh well, I love surprises! :D  Thank you so much Wandering-B!  I love this little surprise I found in my PO Box... it's just lovely.

HGG's Still Arriving After Christmas

It's been another long weekend; and I've been looking forward to the mail returning to normal again.  And today, it's turned out to be a hot one.  So, I went and checked the mail early to get home early enough before the heat of the day really struck home.
While at the Post Office, I picked up a parcel from the US and opened it right there before heading home.  Inside it was a packet of miniature Reeces Peanut Butter Cups, a couple of label, a postcard, a recycled resources coin purse and a hard-covered A5 sized journal!  How lovely!  Even though the box looked like it had seen better days and journeys, I'm happy to say that the contents are unharmed and complete.
Thank you so much for these wonderful things that traveled so far to arrive here safely, author-author.  I do look forward to using the journal soon; and getting into the the Reeces... my favourite chockies from the States. :D

Better Late Than Never

Last week,I checked the mail and found there was a little mail and a late Christmas Card from Germany; a Bookcrosser had sent it.  Isn't it just lovely?  Well, I added it to my collection on the piano and meant to thank you very much for sending it to me, but I went out later that morning and completely forgot to until now.
So, thank you so much for sending this lovely - and very festive - card to me.  It's really made my Christmas.  I love it.  I have loved all the presents and cards I've received over the last few weeks from all my friends across the miles at this time of the year.  You are all very special to me at this time of the year.

Christmas Card Exchange

The other day, I received a lovely Christmas card from another Bookcrosser; this time it's from Finland.  The verse that's printed inside the card - as well as the wording on the front is in Finnish.  What a lovely card!  I love cards which are written in other languages; they are so beautiful... and show how diverse our world really is.
Thank you again heelinae for this lovely Christmas Card; it will join the others on the piano this year.

Ornament Swap Arrives... but...

Today, my Ornament Swap for Bookcrossing arrived in the mail.  However, it wasn't really meant for me.  It was supposed to be on its way to oi-reader who is Twynnie's partner this year; and oi-reader was the person who was supposed to send something to me.  TexasWren fixed this sad dilemma and asked Twynnie to sent oi-reader's ornament to me instead.  And I thought it was such a true and touching gesture.  I love it; as oi-reader would have too.
Thank you, Twynnie for sending me this gift.  It will take pride of place on the tree; and your card will be one my piano as well with the others that are arriving as well.

A Week of Deliveries

I received a few items this week that I didn't get the chance to put up here mainly because I've been so busy with Christmas shopping other things to do with this time of year.  I'm terribly sorry about this; but here are the parcels that arrived.
I didn't get mail until Wednesday; and I was very excited to find that I had to sign for one parcel.  So, I signed for the parcel and found that it was one that had been traveling around the world for almost 2 years!  This was the 'Tea, Read and Journal Bookbox' I had sent off in January 2009.  It's been stalled a little in Indonesia; but I won't go into details of why it was.  However, there were a few things that went astray, such as the tea and the bookmarks; but the books and the journal were still inside.  This is what I was grateful for.
The next parcel that I had received that day was a bookray of 'How To Be A Villain'.  Now, this book is hilariously funny and I read half of it in one sitting. so, I'd say it's going to be a really quick read.  However, seeing how good and funny it is, it's worth reading all the little quotes put in by the author of Darth Vadar, and Montgomery C Burns as well as a few others.  they are pretty funny on their own outside their usual context.
Today, I received a postcard from Charleston, South Carolina.  It's a lovely card and of a view from a beautiful house.  Thank you very much casadchick for taking the time to write to me from your lovely city of Charleston.  I've seen some television shows about the place and would love to visit it one day; as I've heard so many things about it.

Another Lot of Labels Arrive.

It's been very wet for the last few days; and so I'm happy I've gotten the PO Box because anything that arrives is always dry; no matter what it is.  Today, there was only an envelope in the PO Box and it was of a Label Exchange; and the BCer put in a Christmas card which I'll be adding to my little collection on the piano.
And aren't they lovely?  I'll most definitely use them all at some point in the next year or so.  And the ones I don't get to use will be swapped or added into parcels.  Thank you so much for sending these to me Heaven150, I really appreciate it.

A HGG Like No Other!

Today, I received a wonderful HGG from a mystery person.  There was an address on the back of a calendar-sized parcel and yet no card or note to let me know who it was from on the inside.  And yet when I opened it, I immediately burst into tears of happiness that I had been sent such a wonderful item through the mail.  This item is 'The Breakfast Club' movie sountrack on vinyl.  I've been searching everywhere for it in all the music shops and haven't found it.
Thank you very much to my mystery sender from Victoria, Australia.  You didn't leave your screen name (I'd rather not use your Real Life name here for safety reasons) so I'd like to thank you very much for making my year and making me very happy.  I will treasure this vinyl and keep looking out for one that is in mint condition; as this one has a few scratches (but then when they're second-hand, you can't help but get a few on them).  And even when I do get a better one, I won't get rid of this one seeing they're so hard to find.

A postcard from Canada!

I received a lovely postcard from megami-no-ushi in Canada.  It's just lovely with the two Grizzly bear cubs on the front isn't it?  I've love this part of the world since I received a calendar from one of my old penpals in New York who had been there for holidays.  And now, since then, my Mum has been there and fell in love with the place too.
Thank you again for the post card.  It will join the others in my dining room that line the wall near my kitchen.
